I’m a 42-year-old home decor enthusiast who spent years wishing my living spaces looked like the ones I kept saving on Pinterest. Sound familiar?
The problem was that most of the “inspiration” I found online felt out of reach, too expensive, too complicated, or designed for homes that looked nothing like mine. So I started figuring things out myself. Testing ideas, making mistakes, finding what actually works, and slowly turning my own home into a space I genuinely love being in.
Over the past several years, I’ve personally worked on 5 home interiors, from a compact studio apartment all the way up to a larger house with a garden. I’ve also completed a course in interior design fundamentals, which gave me a solid foundation in space planning, color theory, and styling principles I apply to every guide I write.
That’s what SavvyNestLiving is all about.

Why I Started This Site
Honestly? I was frustrated.
I kept seeing the same “10 ways to decorate your living room” articles that either recommended furniture I couldn’t afford or showed photos of homes that looked like hotel lobbies.
I wanted something different, real tips from a real person, in a real home, with a real budget.
So I started writing. And people started reading. And it turns out there are a lot of us out there who just want a cozy, beautiful home without spending a fortune or hiring a designer.
SavvyNestLiving is my way of sharing everything I’ve learned, so you don’t have to figure it out the hard way like I did.
My Credentials & Experience
I want to be upfront about who I am and why you can trust what I write here.
I’m not a licensed interior designer, and I’ll never pretend to be. What I do bring to every article is:
- 5 home interiors personally worked on, from a tiny studio apartment to a full house with a garden, each one taught me something different about what works and what doesn’t
- A completed course in interior design fundamentals covering space planning, color theory, furniture arrangement, and styling principles
- Years of hands-on testing, I don’t write about ideas I haven’t tried or researched thoroughly
- Ongoing learning, I read home decor publications regularly to track trends worth following and ones that fade fast
- A finger on the pulse of real readers, I spend time on Reddit, Pinterest, and Facebook listening to the actual questions and frustrations real homeowners share every day
If an idea requires a big budget, I’ll say so. If something is harder than it looks, I’ll tell you that too. I don’t publish anything I wouldn’t personally stand behind.

Where I embed images from Pinterest, they are properly attributed with a source link so you can always follow through to the original creator.
